GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR – The Government of the Republic of Newfoundland, in partnership with the Republic of Newfoundland Rifle Association, is pleased to announce the 126th Annual Victoria Day National Shooting Competition, to be held this Victoria Day at Fort Forbes-Robertson, Grand Falls-Windsor.

One of the oldest continuously held shooting events in North America, the Victoria Day National Shooting Competition has become a proud annual gathering of marksmanship, sportsmanship, public service, and Newfoundland tradition. Each year, hundreds of participants from across the Republic come together in central Newfoundland to compete, learn, reconnect, and celebrate the responsible shooting culture that has long formed part of the nation’s civic life.

This year’s competition will feature a full programme of shotgun, rifle, and pistol events. Shotgun stages will include sporting clays, clay pigeons, and skeet. Rifle events will include service conditions, precision stages, and action shooting. Pistol competitors will take part in bull’s-eye and action shooting competitions designed to test accuracy, discipline, safety, and composure under time.

Ammunition costs for registered competitors will be sponsored by the Ministry of Defence and National Security, reflecting the Government’s continued support for lawful firearms ownership, safe civilian marksmanship, and national preparedness.
