APPOINTMENT OF HONOURABLE REBECCA KEATING AS MINISTER FOR EDUCATION
In accordance with the powers vested in the President of the Republic of Newfoundland under Article 72(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Newfoundland (Revised 2023), and acting upon the advice of the Prime Minister, it is hereby notified that:
The Honourable Rebecca Keating, MP, has been appointed as Minister for Education with effect from Monday, 3 November 2025.
The Honourable Minister Keating shall assume all duties, powers, and responsibilities pertaining to the Office of the Minister for Education, including oversight of the National Department of Education, supervision of education policy and curriculum reform, and leadership of national initiatives under the Education Renewal and Digital Learning Strategy (2025–2030).
This appointment follows the retirement of Hon. Dr. Samuel Harrington, who served as Minister for Education from 2019 to 2025. The Government extends its appreciation for his years of dedicated public service.
