Mandate

The Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation of Newfoundland is dedicated to fostering positive relationships with Indigenous communities, based on mutual respect, trust, and understanding. Its core responsibilities include promoting self-determination, supporting sustainable socio-economic development, and preserving cultural heritage. The ministry focuses on the implementation of agreements that recognize Indigenous rights, facilitating government-to-government collaborations, and nurturing partnerships that empower Indigenous peoples.
