Overview

The Newfoundland Armed Forces (NAF) are tasked with the defence and security of the Republic of Newfoundland, focusing on North Atlantic and Arctic operations, homeland defence, and contributions to NATO missions. Comprising the Royal Newfoundland Army, Royal Newfoundland Navy, Royal Newfoundland Air Force, and a dedicated cyber and information security capability, the NAF provides a multi-domain approach to national security. Working with advanced maritime and aerospace technologies and long-standing alliance partnerships, the NAF safeguards territorial integrity while participating in multinational exercises. The NAF is prepared for diverse challenges including search and rescue, disaster response, and support to civil authorities, maintaining readiness and resilience across maritime, air, land, and cyber environments.
