The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Newfoundland is dedicated to fostering education, advancing research and learning, and supporting cultural understanding across Newfoundland and Labrador. Our mandate encompasses the implementation of the Unified Education Act, ensuring universal, tuition-free access to primary, secondary, and tertiary education. By nurturing creative and scientific talents, we aim to empower individuals and communities, supporting a resilient, knowledge-based economy in the 21st century. In close coordination with the Ministry of Culture & Communications, we are committed to supporting our rich history, diverse cultural expressions, Indigenous languages and traditions, and maritime legacy. By promoting arts education, literature, and digital learning, we aim to strengthen Newfoundland’s cultural identity and international educational exchanges.
